Can someone tell me what the ellipsis is here? Cant quite figure it out.

Original sentence
Although Napoleon's army entered Russia with far more supplies than for any previous campaign, it had provisions for only twenty-four days.


Although
Napoleon's army entered Russia with far more supplies
than
(it had entered with) for any previous campaign, it had provisions for only twenty-four days.

I believe the ellipsis of am is wrong here. please advise.

When subjective pronouns are being compared,the verb can be omitted.

Hi Vineet can u elaborate?
the subject=henry, object=I(or it shud be "me") :shock:
"Henry is taller than me" is this correct eliminating the verb?

Henry is taller than I am
is this correct too?

noun needs to be compared with another noun (or pronoun).
