I don't think am in entire capacity to address all your concerns, but could attempt at a few. First of all, Congratulations to you for the marriage.
1. If I finish a MBA here, would I be able to get a job in the U.S.? Is there a norm in the U.S where I wouldn't be able to work for 1 year as I have come on a dependent visa. What are the other options that would be available for me to go there on an independent visa?
If you want to go to the US with an independent visa, then it only makes sense that you do your MBA from a US B-School or an MS in the US. If thats the case, then I don't think you have anything to worry about the VISA status.
About getting a job in the US with an MBA from Greatlakes :- I think its pretty much a stretch on how much you could leverage the brand in the US to get ahead. However, an MBA would help you in applying for jobs in the US (if you go on as a dependent).
2.I was considering possibilities of enrolling for a Ph.D program or an M.S program in the U.S but some people say that Ph.D requires that I do an MBA for 24 months and not 12 months.Would these possibilities work out for me?
To my knowledge, I think PHD in management programs require a 24 month management degree.
3.What other possibilities do I have? I am planning for a dual specialization in Marketing and HR. Since marketing and HR have different dimensions in the east and west, does that mean that it is difficult to get a job there? In that case, is finance preferred over marketing or HR?
This is a curveball. I think its about what you want to do. I would suggest you focus on a particular specialization of your interest.
I think its purely based on your priorities and what you are looking for from an MBA.
All the best!
