Great Lakes is proud to inform you of GL Connect, a platform wherein Management aspirants across the country get a chance to network & associate with the Institute. Going beyond the regular agenda of discussing the School, application norms, addressing FAQs etc., this year the event offers much more.

GL Connect will present live discussions with the Dean, Dr. Bala V Balachandran and eminent speakers such as Shantanu Prakash, Chairman, Educomp Solutions, Amit Agnihotri, Chairman, MBA Universe, Ashish Bharadwaj, Managing Director, GMAC-INDIA, Mr. Mohan Lakhamraju, Stanford Business School Alumnus and Ex-VC/PE Investor etc. Keep checking the Great Lakes website to find out which speaker is there in a given city.

Since inception of the institute, this platform used to be called ‘Meet the Dean’, with only Dr. Bala addressing the MBA aspirant audience. From this year, we have re-christened the same event as ‘GL Connect’ and brought in a wider range of speakers to provide a global management perspective.

We are planning GL Connect as a four-city event, the details of which are given below. Registrations are already open for the event to be held in Delhi, Mumbai, Bangalore and Chennai. Please find the details below-

I am planning to give my GMAT in Sept'12. I am hitting 650 in GMAT prep & MGMAT & hope would touch 700 in the finals.
I am looking for Indian Colleges (ISB & Great Lakes) for 1 year executive MBA, as studying abroad would be very expensive for me, but I am open to go provided if I can get any scholarships.

Work Experience: total 4 yrs of work-ex in Sales ( Business Development, Marketing, Sales, New Acquisition & Farming from Existing Accounts ) of IT Solutions & Services like Data Centre Services, Cloud Services, IT Management & Monitoring, Facility Management, Hardware, Software, etc

IBM/26 months/ Sales & Marketing of above mentioned IT Services apart from Running a marketing campaign to educate customers about IBM services.

Omnitech (MNC)/ 12 months / Sales of above mentioned services.

Wipro/6 months & working till date/ Sales of above services. New Acquisitions & Farming from existing Large accounts.

I am currently earning a CTC of 8 lakh per annum or 20K USD.

Education Background:

Post Graduate Diploma in MAnagement through Distance Learning from Symbiosis Pune.
B.tech in Computer Science & Engineering with 69%
12th from Maths & Science with 73%
10th from PCM with 84%.

Extracurricular Activities:

Active member of Green Peace Society ( NGO for Environment Protection ) in terms of Donations & participating in campaigns.
Freelancing in Trading in Stock Markets.
President of Cultural Society of my College.
Developed - Installed & Commissioned a Self Made Health Research Software for Homeopath Doctors to carry out different kinds of research, at my hometown free of cost.
It is still running live successfully.

My Question:
What are my chances of getting into Great Lakes & what would be the min score required?
Also, as per the placement report the avg CTC is 9 l.p.a. I am currently earning 8 lpa. So what would you advice in this case? Would I be able to get some good hike after passing out from Great Lakes?


Any other suggestions / advice would be helpul. Kindly advice.

I am not an alumn of great lakes, but yes colleges just look at your total score. Q 42 is low, but i think you directly contact the adcom, they are the best to comment on the issue.
Anyways, i do not see Q42 as a big issue.
