E: We're talking about lizards, plural, so we need a matching verb. This eliminates A and B. Finally, I feel that the word interaction implies the word "between" so including it is redundant. E is clear and concise.

Between D and E, E is my choice. For D, between ---------- with ----- is not idiomatic.

We start with the last part of the sentence - and observe there is a comparison between stimuli and hormones

So knock off all answer choices with wrong usage of between
A,C,D go off

Between B & E.
E is better - Notice the first part of sentence is plural there fore we need plural for comparison.

A. an excellent animal for laboratory studies of the interaction between stimuli with > Singular animal does not match with plural lizards and moreover with is wrong usage

B. an excellent animal for laboratory studies of interaction of stimuli and > same as A

C. being excellent animals for laboratory studies of the interaction between stimuli with > Being > avoid it and also usage of with is wrong

D. excellent animals for laboratory studies of the interaction between stimuli with > With in incorrect and must be dr with between

E. excellent animals for laboratory studies of the interaction of stimuli and > Error free, correct usage
