Lizards, a plural, help us elliminate A and B. The use of the word 'being' does not help the C cause..
D uses between without and.

Green anole lizards are a group of animals. Therefore, AB are wrong.

C is wrong because it has being in it.

D is wrong because between stimuli with should be between X and Y

Answer is clearly E since we know subject is plural that would eliminate A & B, C is not idiomatic "being", and D is out since "with" is used instead of "and"
