nice post! I have a question -after the events is it fine to email the people there to keep in touch like "i really enjoyed talking to you " etc. or one shouldnt do that?

What's your intent? If you want to keep them as part of your long term network then this would be a great idea! :-D

should i email them weekly or thats too stalkerish?

Yea I don't know about weekly unless you are trying to get a date or something. Every couple months give updates is fine and to catch up.

Hope this helps,

The avoidance of traveling in packs suggestion is a great point. You definitely want to stand out and be remember and that's pretty hard to do when you're surrounded by a group of your peers. This may even bring about some cattiness and unfriendly competition depending on your group members.
