For me, I was less spooked and more heartbroken it wasn't an interview invite. Still patiently waiting...

Did you apply R1 or R2? I'm a R2 applicant and got the email as well. What are they expecting me to do - email the student reps and say hi?! Ugh.

If it makes you feel any better, I didn't even get the rep email, was scratching my head after reading the posts here. Just got the acknowledgement yesterday that my app is ready for review.

Sigh, I suppose so. Thank you. To be frank, IDK what's going on with Haas this year. Such small number of invites that went out (or it seems so on this forum)...

I applied R2. Saw the Haas email and immediately thought/hoped it was an invite. Sadness.

Looks like US based R1 applicants are out of luck? Since they are already inviting R2 applicants. Ah well..

I don't understand how they operate at all. It seems like it would be super confusing to be receiving new applications before they even finish reviewing the ones they do have. I think Haas is trying to manipulate their yield (by seeing who withdraws their applications due to unusual round deadlines) and to make decisions with more information (by having rounds overlap). It's kind of like they're hoarding applications to see what else comes in.

I'm lucky to have admits elsewhere, but their timeline really messes with us! Their process is decreasing my interesting, and I bet I'm not the only one...

I read this on the haas mba blog

When will Round 2 interview invitations start?
We are in the early stages of reviewing Round 2 applications. Interview invitations will start going out the first week of January, and will continue through the Round 2 decision deadline of March 1, 2012.

Interviewed last night off-campus with an alum. Went alright, not great.

Questions:
Walk me through your resume
Tell me about a time you directed strategy.
How will you fit into the Haas community?
Why MBA?
What will you bring to the community?
Any questions?

Overall, just eh. Thankfully I have Booth so I don't have to fret.

I feel like Haas' admissions tactics are beginning to annoy a lot of people....

Any Indian women applicants out there who got an interview invite from Haas?? or anybody who already interviewed with them??

I am a round 2 applicant, and my application is in "currently under review" status since Dec 20th. One of my recommenders took longer to finish my recommendation form due to which my application was "Incomplete" for some time.

I am from Engineering background with 8 years of WE, working at client locations in US since 2007. Wondering if anybody from similar background has got an interview invite.

Had my interview with an alum last week and it went so well it's making me reconsider my admit at Booth if I were to get into Haas. The agony is killing me.
