They sure made me wait. I didn't get the call until after dinner on decision day (2/21), but no complaints now! You have three great choices to pick from? Do you know where you are going?

I don't -- it's definitely between Haas and Tuck. I love Berkeley for the strong west coast connections as I'd like to end up in the West but I've always loved the program itself at Tuck the most (full-time only focus, great environment/support for my family). Such a tough choice but I'm grateful to have it.

Got the call...I must say I am quite impressed with the way Haas gives detailed feedback during the admit call.

I also like the Haas location and small class size which is ultimately what I am looking for. I suppose this is just a word to the wise who are applying in years to come: look into as many programs as you can as early as you can so you don't overlook a school that could find its way to the top of your list.

A friend of mine who got in as well didn't get any either. According to the financial aid website, "Approximately 70 percent of Haas students receive some form of financial assistance, including scholarships and loans.". It would be interesting to have more details about that statistic, to me most of those 70% must be helped with loans. Geeum I found the information I was missing. According to a podcast on Haas' website, 40% of students receive scholarships. Geeum

I wasn't able to attend the waitlist chat yesterday and it seems like the chat script is not up on the website yet. Anyone who attended have any key takeaways?

They have had financial issues recently so wondering. Hi Hern007, do you have any source backing this up ? Geeum Yeah I think they're very cagey on how much in scholarships they give out. My feeling is that it's qutie a bit lower than other schools. That being said, I don't think the school is having "financial issues." I wouldn't extrapolate whatever issues the state of California is having (real or imagined) to Haas. Haas has quite a few self-supported programs. So, funding cuts to Berkeley as a whole don't usually touch Haas. From an interview Dean Lyons did with the WSJ ( http://online.wsj.com/article/SB1000087 ... 34092.html): "Our operating budget is about $100 million and we have a roughly $20 million line item [from the state], but we're nowhere near 20% funded. There is no public funding for the three self-supporting programs [evening and weekend M.B.A., executive M.B.A. and master's in finance], and we send the [university] 15 cents of every dollar of that revenue. When you add up those payments [as well as student fees and a 7% charge on gross revenue from nondegree executive education], our net public subsidy is zero." "At the full-time M.B.A., we're effectively toggling from a state-supported program to a completely self-supporting program. We just renegotiated to get the financial freedom to compete [by controlling the budget]."
