I would choose D too.
I have seen a question type like this before.
I am not sure what the exact explanation is, but it has something to do with an comparison of the products drug. With "than" you compare the price, while in the last part of the sentence and the beginning of the sentence the product is referred.
However, I am not 100% sure.
