Going to one today. Highly unlikely I will apply because I am targeting part time programs near where I live, but I am in Boston this week and I guess just curious. What questions would you ask? Anyone want me to be their proxy? :)

heh, very funny.

Well, the only thing I found out today, which is probably common sense is that though officially they allow prospective students to visit classes only in Oct after the R1 deadline, if you happen to know any students at HBS, you could sneak into class in September, right after classes have started, a back door route so to speak.

so they don't expect anyone to talk about any classes people visited in the essays of R1 applicants? Even if you sneak into one, you probably don't want to talk about it and let them know that you snuck into one. =)

You are probably right as they dont expect candidates to have visited classes last year for R1.

When I visited campus the adcom mentioned some students visit a YEAR in advance. So some of the competition will have formal visits to talk about. I thought people here planned well in advance and I haven't heard of anyone visiting that early.

Some people I know who are in fields that an MBA is pretty much a requirement in after 3 or 4 years visited schools in the spring. I wouldn't be suprised if lots of people for R1 at harvard have been there for visits last year.

impressive... I guess that's what you need to get into Harvard, and that's probably why R1 has all the "overachievers" applying.

Seems like everyone here on GMATClub is also applying to their top schools R1. There's gonna be lots of competition! :)

I want to apply to my top schools in R1. But this work is killing. Just back from office after screwing up my weekend on deliverable.

The project is in final stage. It will chop off 20 days of my application time

Might mostly end up applying to my top schools in R2.

It seems he is right, when some body said that we should apply to our most important schools, after applying to a couple of other schools.
