Harvard Resume Requirements Question [#permalink] New post 07 Mar 2005, 23:01
Hi,

Harvard MBA needs a Resume to be uploaded in the Full Time Employment History section.

The instructions document says:

"All applicants must submit a current resume that describes the work history and responsibilities, volunteer work or extra curricular activities."

My current job resume is about 7 pages in length. I am sure that I cannot submit that resume to HBS admissions.

I would appreciate if anybody can give answers to the following questions:

#1 How many pages are allowed in a resume.
#2 In the original application in "Fulltime Employment" section, I am already specifying the employment history and responsibilities. So, I am just wondering if it is ok, if I just specify my employment history dates and positions. If not, can I duplicate the work history and responsibilities in the resume.
#3 Can I do the same for Volunteer work and extra curricular activities.
#4 Is there any place where I can find sample resumes.

I appreciate your help.

thank you,

#1 Your resume should be condensed to 1 page.

#2 No, that's not okay. Your resume should be written specifically to support your application story. It should not be a regurgitation of information.

#3 Yes, you may include a couple lines on volunteer work and extracurriculars -- but it should be relatively brief, unless it's amazing stuff.

#4 Your MBA Game Plan
