Is the SENTENCE " Sparrows have been native to country X." legal? I feel that has been is not required with native to.
Can we always go "is native to" ?
Are there any exceptions?

Has been & Have been are present perfect.
singular Vs plural of subject determines which of these should be used.
Has been - goes with singular subj
Have been - goes with plural subj.
