Help needed! About thank you notes to interviewer [#permalink] New post 17 Mar 2008, 20:22
Guys,

I had my interview last week & didn't get the chance to send my HBS interviewer a thank you note.
First of all, she didn't give me any name card, so all I got was this generic admissions e-mail address. However, I saw that her e-mail is written in one of HBS sites.

So, what do you think of these options:
1. Send her a thank you e-mail to the generic e-mail address?
2. Send her a thank you e-mail to her e-mail address? Does this come across as impolite? I don't know about the culture in US, in my country, it's perfectly fine to do this
3. Send her a thank you card through snail mail (this would mean, FedEx.. not exactly snails) :)

What do you guys think? Thanks guys, appreciate your help!

just send it to her direct. She might not even remember if she gave you her card. And it's only a thank you note, like BSD said.

I interviewed with an Admissions Officer at Kellogg so her card had a generic email address. I never sent a thank you note but did get a personal call from her the week following to notify me of my admissions.

I sent thank yous to Wharton & Duke. Nothing to Cal (was over it at that point)

I've pretty much sent thank you notes within a day or two to my interviewers. And when I find out my admission, I also send a thank you note again letting them know. I've always gotten the email address for my interviewers, so never had a problem there. Otherwise, I would call the admissions office and ask them for the interviewer's email.
