Hi All,
I need some advise/help to improve my score from ~620 to 700+. I have scheduled my GMAT for 20th Nov 2010. I finished PS & DS sections of OG11, I have also completed Kaplan Math Workbook (which I think was very very simple for me). Here's the summary of what I have done so far (basically in last one month):

Math:
Reviewed OG11 concepts, Kaplan Math Workbook concepts, Cracking the GMAT 2009 edition Math concepts
Solved PS/DS sections from OG11, Solved only advanced problems & practice sets from Kaplan Math Workbook, solved Cracking the GMAT math practice sets

Verbal:
Read RC strategy from Kaplan Verbal book, Solved RC practice tests from the same book.
Finished reading Powerscore CR bible (only important chapters), Finished problems from this book
Working on CR questions from OG11

Lined up: Manhattan SC guide & OG11 SC questions

I have 10 weeks and I would really appreciate if the forum can advise me on how to proceed now to achieve the target score of 700+. I realized that I need:

1. Topic based PS/DS questions (A LOT of them)
2. Thorough review of every single Math topic.
3. More verbal practice questions.

I have GMATPrep#1, 2, Kaplan#1,2,3,4, PowerPrep#1, 2, Manhattan Cat#1,2,3,4,5 But I am saving them for the end.

Please help me. Thanks.

Hello prateekduble! Welcome to the gmatclub.

I think you have great resources lined up for your preparation. Yes, Kaplan Math Workbook is very very simple for those who wants to go for 700+ and I would like you to use gmatclub tests for Quant section mainly, these tests are really useful for people aiming for higher score on Quant. Hi kissthegmat,

Are these Math tests topic-based? Is it a good idea to concentrate on topics rather than solving a mix of PS/DS problems similar to actual GMAT/other CATs?

u need error logs as it will help you tremendously. Can you give us a breakdown of your score? If you are low in verbal you might need more time in that category and if it is really low you might need to restart from scratch. let us know

You need to further break down your verbal strengths/weaknesses and construct an effective gameplan to address them.

Though these gmatclub tests are not topic-based, these tests do have very tricky questions. These questions can train you for the GMAT traps that GMAC plays. Just try the free tests from the above link provided by me then you can decide to purchase whole set of gmatclub tests.

I'll suggest it's wise to go for mixed problems and train your mind in the way GMAT works. Whenever I personally solve problems from gmatclub, I open 2-3 windows for gmatclub such as one window for SC another one for CR. I think we should prepare in the same manner the GMAT works.

Hi ,
My Quants average has been ~45 & Verbal ~30 (based on 3 full tests). I havent studied for Verbal yet (except CR bible).
I think Gmat Club Math tests together with other prep tests should be sufficient.

Any thoughts on getting the Math concepts refresher on this site? I dont like to study from a number of guides to get the concepts.

Use the above link to select the topic and question type.

For extra practice of Verbal, consider using Verbal Official Guide 2.

Do not give so many CAT's, consider only Gmatprep,powerprep, and Mgmat.

Error logs are very imp as suggested above. If you start SC after CR, do not stop practicing CR. Instead everyday practice 5-10 questions of every type.

Multiple revision of your weak areas and strength is better than practicing new material near the exam. So do take care of that. Do revise your mistakes again and again until you stop making them.

Good luck and keep us updated with your progress chart. I m sure you will hit 700+.
