Help on how to improve my score [#permalink] New post 28 Aug 2010, 23:10
Hey everyone,

I wrote my GMAT exam on July 7, 2010 and got 550 (Q38 V27). I used Princeton Review's material but I didn't concentrate much on the Verbal part of the GMAT. I figured the areas that I need to improve on as follows:

1. Pacing
2. Reading Comprehension
3. Critical Reasoning
4. Sentence Correction
5. Geometry
6. Combinations and Permuations

My aim is to get a score beyond 700 and I'm planning to spend 3 months for it. I have ordered Manhattan's bundle of 8 books along with Powerscore's Critical Reasoning Bible and GMAT Premier 2011 with CD-ROM. I would appreciate any help on raising my score.

Has anyone here used the Powerscore's Critical Reasoning Bible and/or Manhattan's Sentence Correction and/or Manhattan's Reading Comprehension and see a huge improvement in their scores? Any kind of help and/or suggestions are greatly appreciated!

Regards,
Kashif Sear.

Hi Kashif, Welcome to gmat club!! :)

I think you have made a good decision to order MGMAT bundle. I hope you have ordered the MGMAT complete set with three official guides, as OG is mandatory for a good practice. In my personal opinion, I think MGMAT guides are sufficient enough to help you getting your 700 mark. One additional resource for getting a high Q score is gmat club tests, but you have to take your Q score to 46-47 before taking these tests.

After going through the MGMAt guides you will feel the difference. It definitely helps in improving your skills.

Best of luck & keep us posted!!

Well I have ordered the MGMAT's bundle of eight and I already had Official Guides 10, 11 and 12. My aim is to get touch somwhere around 45-50 in quant and 40 in verbal. Hope that the resources that I currently have can help me get there.
