Hi gqlady20,

I think it's important for you to define the more important goal - would you rather apply for Round 2 now (regardless of the strength of your overall profile) OR would you rather have the strongest application possible so that you could have the best chance to get into your first-choice Business School (even if that meant applying for a later Round or even next Fall)?

I have decided I should just apply round 1 of next year. I got sick in between, and was sick during the GMAT, as a result BOMBED it. Its pointless for me to apply Round 3. Do you think its bad to take a month or two break in between starting up again?

Hi gqlady20,

I'm sorry to hear that you were sick when you took the GMAT - that type of situation would like hurt most Test Takers. How did you actually score (including the Quant and Verbal Scaled Scores)?

Adjusting your application plans to focus on Round 1 next Fall is a smart choice - it gives you the opportunity to continue studying, raise your GMAT score AND potentially improve other aspects of your application(s). If you want to take some time off before restarting your studies, then that's fine. GMAT skills do 'fade' over time though, so you will likely need to start 'from scratch' when you return to study mode.
