First of all, I want to emphasize that you are in a very competitive demographic group meaning that there are many more well qualified candidates than there are allocated seats. This is especially true at the most competitive business schools -- namely most of those that you would be targeting.
As for which schools you should be targeting, I always recommend that Indian candidates apply to between 7 and 8 schools. In your case, I would forgo the top schools such as HBS, Stanford, Wharton, Sloan, Columbia, Tuck, Haas and Booth. Of the remaining schools, I would recommend that you focus on the following: Ross, Johnson, Fuqua, Anderson, Marshall, Stern Kenan Flaglar and Tepper. I would need to know more about your candidacy to know whether to recommend you apply to not apply to such school such as Kellogg, Yale and other top programs.
