First I have to say this whole forum is amazing. Everyone is rooting for everyone and its really great.

So I have started my gmat prep around a couple of months ago and am taking the gmat April 19th. I am shooting for a 700, 46 quant 40 verbal which seems reachable. I took a manhattan gmat 2 weeks ago and the quant was so hard so untimed I got a 43 quant 35 verbal, 640 total. That was my first time seeing the verbal section so I'm hoping I could raise that to at least a 40 with practice on SC. In quant, I have pounded and feel comfortable with algebra, arithmetic, and geometry ( the main topics which i'm happy about). The topics I need work on are work/rate, probability, and per/comb. I was never planning on studying probability and per/comb since it is usually one or 2 questions max. However, regarding rate and work questions I have no knowledge in that area and am looking for a way to really tackle it, since the gmat loves those.

Verbal wise, I am a native english speaker and RC i'm good with. CR I could improve, usually around 75 percent accuracy. SC I am terrible at and have to focus on.

My plan is for the next two weeks really pound out work/rate and SC as well as keep other quant fresh. Then start taking a practice test twice a week till the test while reviewing my error log as well as flash cards at least once a day. In theory sounds great but its so hard to tackle areas like rate/work that I am so uncomfortable with. I always keep pushing it off. Its time to tackle it.

Can anyone give me advice on how to start with the rate/work problems and if this sounds good?

Thanks a lot everyone!

Actually work rate problems are quite straight forward and use just a couple of concepts. I wrote a few posts some time back on how to handle these problems using minimum time (using ratios)

I have also written a ton of posts (on the same blog) on Perm Comb and Probability in the last few weeks. Though, if you are shooting for Q46, you can skip the advanced concepts of these topics.
