helping to pay off bschool tuition by interviewing [#permalink] New post 27 Jan 2008, 16:29
Not trying to spam here since I've been a member here for a while, but I was invited to this website/jobsite notchup.com and I think the concept is brilliant (wish I had started it...). See the two links below for a description of the company. In a nutshell, you get paid by companies to interview because they target you based on your profile and it saves them significant money over using a traditional recruiter who might charge as much as 30% of a base salary to hire.

I only recently signed up and have yet to see the efficiency of it (and since I will be going to school in the fall have no immediate use) but I thought it might of interest to those of you who are currently second years or first years trying to get a head start.

You can apply on the site right now and wait to see, but if you have an interest in getting an invite right away send me a PM since I can invite an infinite number of people. See below:

Seems like their website is down right now.. I think they got overloaded with hits due to their write-up in a ton of blogs and newspapers this weekend, so if you sent me a PM with your info, hopefully I'll be able to invite you in the next few days.

The site might get a ton of users -- who wouldnt want to be paid to interview -- but I'm not sure its a particularly viable model. The problem is that, for $300, sure, I'll interview for anything.
You'll get a ton of applicants who have absolutely no intention of leaving their jobs looking for a quick buck.

That's where the feedback mechanism comes in Rhyme. After the interview, for now, companies post feedback to your profile:

" -- Member Reputation Management -- Candidate feedback and statistics are
collected from each interview and presented to interested companies to
protect their investment."

Essentially then future companies can see others feedback and risk adjust their price essentially for the candidate
