High undergrad gpa but lower graduate degree (law) grades [#permalink] New post 09 May 2012, 17:32
Hello,

I am interested in applying to a top 10 American MBA program. My undergrad gpa is very high and so is my GMAT, but the problem is that after i obtained my UG degree I then got my law degree and my grades in law were quite average.

I'm just wondering if anyone has any input /advice/ experience in relation to this scenario...

Also, i did my undergrad degree in 4.5 years rather than 4 as i didnt feel like i was in any rush at the time... Does anyone have any knowledge as to how Adcoms view applicants who didn't do their degrees in 4 years?

Thx!

There are a LOT of ways to deal with low grades. The first thing that is great is that your UG grades (which are in fact more important) are high. Which means you may not even have to explain away anything at all. If your grades are BAD, maybe, but if they are average, As for the time you took, in general, up to a year more would be acceptable, any more starts to raise questions. Better to leave well enough alone.
