I'd love your thoughts on my profile - thanks so much for taking the time to read.
1) I'm currently working as the teacher/administrator/creator of a pilot immersion program for the city government of Seoul, South Korea (2 years). Previously, I worked in alumni engagement and admissions (2 year post grad, 3 years during undergrad with steady promotions leading to a job after graduation). I'll be a 26 year old white female with 4 years of work experience post-grad at the time of matriculation.
2) Practice tests indicate that I will score somewhere between 670 and 700 on the GMAT. I'm looking to start Fall 2015, so I'll be studying and taking the test for real within the next 6 months.
3) Undergrad: Oregon State University, English Major. 3.72 GPA, 3.85 in major. High School: International Baccalaureate Diploma.
4) Internships in Germany (youth programming) and the US (non-profit for first-time home buyer assistance). Language skills: English, conversational Spanish, survival German (declining) and Korean (improving every day!). Many leadership positions in clubs, etc.
5) No business classes, background, or certifications of any kind. Minimal math classes in college. Planning to take some supplemental stats - maybe the MBAMath online course?
6) I'm looking for programs that will allow me to focus on international business, higher education (Michigan?) or both. I am not looking to attend a school outside the US.
7) Post-MBA, I'd like to work in the field of international education as a programmer and consultant. I'd like to gain the business acumen to build study abroad, language immersion, and bridge programs from the ground up - so ideally a program with an entrepreneurial focus and an international cohort. A university with a strong non-profit certification or Public Affairs program would be lovely.
I'd love your thoughts on what tier of schools I should be researching, and I'd also like to know if you've seen people with a similarly liberal arts-focused background thrive in any particular programs.
Thanks again!
