This one seems to go for the tense.
Between A and B..I chose B, but A is better it keeps the sentence is present continous....

in B the "had" makes it perfect past... not required.

(A) His campaign for sanitary conditions in operating rooms finally successful (his is followed by Sir Joseph Lister)
(B) Since his campaign for sanitary conditions in operating rooms had been eventually successful (attribute to success is SJL’s campaign which changes the intended meaning)
(C) Because of the eventual success of his campaigning for sanitary conditions in operating rooms (attribute to success is SJL’s campaign which changes the intended meaning)
(D) His campaign for sanitary conditions in operating rooms being eventually successful (being is the deadly word in GMAT)
(E) Campaigning, eventually successfully, for conditions to be sanitary in operating rooms (seems to be confusing)

I am not satisfied with option A, because C is starting with a modifier and then followed by the noun "which is being modified so can anyone give an elaborate explanation for this question

I still feel C is the correct answer

I'm still confused about this question. I also chose C as my answer. It was between B and C for me.

I think you just have to keep it simple. Don't start a sentence with because. Also, the part within the comma describes the word immediately following it in A so go with A as your answer.

Must admit,
this one is pretty tough.
Although,I`m still not convinced option A is the answer.
