is there any typo?

i see none of them correct.

I agree. B cannot be correct: as well as his cat and goldfish, prevent...

should be prevents. his dog, ...., prevents... only and can make singular subjects have a plurarl verb.

none of the choices is correct...it should be "prevents"
a "collective subject" can only be linked by the word "and" and nothing
else...."as well as", "in addition", "together with" are not allow to link nouns to form collective subject (Rules from PR Grammer Smart)

Apologies. There is definitely a typo error.

(b) as well as his cat and goldfish, preventS.

And the answer is 'B' for the reasons quoted above.

His dog, along with his cat and goldfish, prevent him from taking long trips.

(b) as well as his cat and goldfish, prevent
[Incorrect - Singular subject because of as well as]
(c) in addition to his cat and goldfish, are preventing
[Incorrect - Singular subject because of in addition to]
(d) together with his cat and goldfish, were preventing
[Correct - Plural subject]
(e) accompanied by his cat and goldfish, prevent
[Incorrect - Singular subject because of accompanied by]

oopsss...did not read other messages.
I did not know that "together with" affects the similar way as others do and therefore chose D that is for sure a wrong answer :)
