Hi Hjort,
I jumped on the MBA bandwagon, but even after talking to some current MBA students as well as visiting the UCLA information sessions, I could not figure out a certain thing about my work experience. My profile is currently the following:
27 yr old, male Indian (raised in Japan)
undergrad from India, in Civil Engineering.
GPA...3.2
Masters in Civil Engineering (Transportation Engineering) with minor in Statistics from Penn State.
GPA 3.7
Started with PhD in Operations Research at USC, hated it, quit the program and ended with a Masters in Engineering Management with emphasis in Operations Research and Supply Chain instead.
GPA 3.6
Working for more than year in a Big 4 accounting firm, specifically in outsourcing, internal audit and risk management. By the time I go to school I will have about 2.5 years of work experience.
Hjort, how would my work experience (which is still less than 2 years at the time when I am applying to schools) compare against that of an undergrad who will have had about 5-6 years of work experience. Would the schools take my 2 masters degrees as sufficient work experience, or would my grad - academic education go against me.
I would appreciate if you could provide any insight to this matter.
