Hope might not help someone while expecting results, but it is a 'must' while doing things. For eg, it is better hoping for an HBS admit while prepping for GMAT/essays than while waiting for the results.

I agree it keeps enthu up.

When u have high hopes You interact with more people who inturn give you more ideas and you learn and improvise. So it helps but its mostly a background process and hence you dont tend to notice :)

But if u see carefully it hogs away your Life CPU as a trade off :lol:
