I'm back from my dreadful GMAT and to say that the test was horrific would be a complete understatement! A score of 500(Q37 V21) just says it all! The score did come as a huge surprise and setback for me considering the amount of time I'd put in slogging for it as well as my Practice tests scores. The major setback that I suffered from on test day was time management.
The following were my practice scores :-
Princeton
570 (q 41 v 27)
630 (q 48 v 30)
GMAT Prep
Prep 1 (Nov 20) : 530 (Q 36 v 25)
Retake (Nov 29) : 600 (q 46 v 27)
Prep 2 : 560 (q 40 v 25)
Prep 2 (retake) : 620 (Q 44 V 31)
The following is the prep material I used to prepare :
OG 12
Manhattan SC Guide
The Princeton Review for CR
Kaplan Live Premier Program 2009
Kaplan 800
Data Sufficiency was my major flaw in Quant and deriving the answer through number-picking was both tedious and time consuming. I'd be grateful if someone would recommend some effective time saving strategies for DS. Majority of the DS that I would get wrong were from Inequalities.
In Verbal, I considered SC to be my forte. In prac tests I would get a maximum of 4 SCs wrong. Unfortunately, CR was my Achilles heel. I really don't know how to improve CR. RCs were managable and I didn't have much problem comprehending the passages.
Well, now I'm rejuvenated, poised and raring to go for a 700 come what may. Unfortunately, I just have a month in hand until my next GMAT and I don't care if i have to slog 24/7 throughout, i just want that bloody 700 score!
So I'd really appreciate receiving some great advice from the 700 Gurus as to how could I overcome my barriers ie.DS and CRs as well as an effective strategy in order to attain that 700 score in a month or max 2months time!
Thank You all, and any sort of advice would be grateful.
