Hi guys
I'm fairly new in the forum and haven't posted before.I've been a silent observer
.
My big day is on the 19th of October. I'm generally good in Maths and have done a fair amount of practice
with problems in the
OG 12 book.
Besides learning the ability to pace oneself, how hard/difficult are the Maths problems in the GMAT? Are we talking
about second year university level of difficult?
Thanks
Jeff
Hi Jeff,
The test is computer adaptive, so everytime you answer a question correctly, you will be given an even harder question. If you answer incorrectly, your next question will be easier. Given this format, nearly everyone is struggling after a handful of questions (unless you're someone who typically answers every question correctly).
Content-wise, the question topics center around concepts we learn in elementary school and some high school (up to about grade 10). That said, the test-writers can create take very elementary concepts (e.g., even and odd numbers) and create questions that can challenge university math majors.
I hope that helps.
