How Do Adcom's View Online UG degrees? [#permalink] New post 27 Feb 2013, 18:47
Hello,

I recently finished my UG degree in finance at a Brick and Mortar school but it was done all through online courses (think BIG 10, BIG 12, SEC school). I am a non traditional student, but actually have very good work experience and have been getting 690-740 on my GMAT practice tests. I also have done a lot of volunteer work and feel the only real weakness is the fact that my undergrad was done via the web. I'm shooting for Top 10-20 programs. If I have a 3.5 GPA, approximately 700 GMAT and have became a VP at my small firm will I have a shot or will the online ug kill me?

Is it the same degree you would receive had you matriculated to the school? If so, you are all set and have nothing to worry about.

Well it IS a bit unusual, and they may look at it with a skeptical eye, but with a good GMAT and good work experience, I think it will matter much less. If you have some interesting reasons for having done it this way, I'd suggest you write an essay about it in your application.
