Hey again all.
I'm an American living and working in Germany. As such, visiting the American schools I'm applying to is pretty much impossible, especially prior to R1. The best I'll be able to do is attend an MBA fair with 2 of the 6 schools I'm applying to. Obviously it's not like the real thing, but at least lets them know I'm a living, breathing human being. As for the rest, I'll be applying sight unseen (to be accurate, I've visited the campuses but not as part of an official, registered visit).
Surely I'm not alone. I'm curious as to how others have addressed this in their applications.
I imagine adcoms can guess why you didn't visit their campus - like you say yourself, there are likely hundreds (if not thousands) of applicants a year from abroad that just don't have the time / money to visit.
That said, you seem to discount an unofficial visit as meaningless - you shouldn't. For the schools you did visit (officially or not) I'd be sure to mention it.
