There are many benefits to timing your practice, including:
Which airport is the best to fly into to get to the Chicago GSB?
Which hotel should I stay at?
Since I've already looked into these things for myself, perhaps I can chime in. MDW is closer then O'Hare, also southwest airlines fly to Midway, which worked out great for me. As for hotels, there might be one or two in the vicinity of campus, but you will find best deals downtown Chi. which I was told about $20-$25 taxi ride away from campus. The orange? train line will take you from the airport to downtown which is very conventient and cheap.
Stay at a hotel in downtown Chicago and taxi it to GSB....
or stay at a hotel close to GSB.
Which would be cheaper? Is chicago downtown pretty condensed? What's there to do in downtown Chicago GSB?
If I were you, I'd stay downtown and cab it to the GSB. There's nothing to do near the Hyde Park Campus. It'll run you about $20-30 to cab it to the GSB from downtown or you can take the train for a few bucks.
Hyde Park would probably be cheaper. Downtown is condensed and there is a lot to do at night and go see.

FYI. Orange line doesn't run round the clock. Service stops earlier than other days on Sundays. If you are arriving late at Midway and plan to take train, check the sched at yourcta.com. Blue line that connects O'hare with downtown runs round the clock.
