I found an interesting article that answers the long asked question - how much GMAT is enough for Harvard and Standford....

Quote:
So what else does Wharton тАФ tied with Stanford for second place after Harvard in U.S. News & World ReportтАЩs 2004 business-school rankings тАФ look for in an MBA applicant? "WeтАЩre looking for academic horsepower, a solid undergraduate performance," says Martinelli, as well as respectable GMAT scores between 640 and 800. Beyond grades and test scores, Martinelli looks for people "who take a combined approach in terms of their personal and professional development." She cites three "leadership prongs" as ideal applicant characteristics, including a record of success, self-awareness, and involvement in the community. If youтАЩve got the above, "then youтАЩre perfect," says Martinelli. "I donтАЩt want the application process to be a mystery. I want more people to recognize that getting an MBA might be a relevant pathway for them."
