How honest should I be while answering this? [#permalink]

I am planning to apply to both US (UCLA, Haas, Duke) and UK (JBS, LBS, Said) schools. I am applying to US and UK schools for different reasons, some personal and some related to my future career interests. I am having difficulty answering question on other schools I am applying in the application. My greatest fear is that if I mention the list of schools, adcoms will think this as lack of coherence in my selected schools.
Is it a good idea not to mention for UK schools, my intention to apply in US schools and vice versa?
Also I am applying to UCLA/Haas for their strong tech program. But if mention UCLA/Haas in Duke's application, I am afraid that adcom will think Duke as my safety school. How should I handle this?
Any suggestions?

Just list a few similarly ranked schools and forget about it.
