How in the earth are people scoring more than 700 ? [#permalink] New post 09 Mar 2006, 10:46
Official Test - March 14th - 4 days to go

My scores are hovering around 550 - 650. Took the "manhattan online test 2" today and got a dismal 550.

PR1 - 630
PR2 - 640
PR3 - Stopped taking since questions repeated

Manhattan online 1 - 590
Manhattan online 2 - 550 (Took today - utterly dissappointed)

GMATPrep1 - 690

Target score - 680 and above

Prepartion - since last 3 months

Guys, what do I do ? I have to write the test on March 14th. If I cancel I will loose the money. If I write I am not sure if I will get the expected score. I fear I may not have the energy and time to study for this exam again. Please advice.

Wow. Even when you posted - not a lot of time. At this point, I'd say to just relax. Take tonight off, don't even think about the test. Cramming won't do you any good; it'll just undermine your confidence.

If it makes you feel better, I worked through the PR and Kaplan books. The highest I scored on the Kaplan practice tests was 590; I think I got a 670 on the PR practice exams.

The day of my actual test, though, I pulled off a 710.

Just be calm, don't fret over questions you've already completed, and remember to breathe. :) Good luck!

yeah
in my personal opinion, 700+ people can be reach if you focus on verbal. Few people get 40+ on verbal whereas most of the test takers got 40+ in quant.
In my opinion, working first on quant to reach 45 and then working harder on verbal is the key.
However, it is easier to improve quants compared with verbal, just too bad
