how is experience calculated. [#permalink] New post 25 Oct 2009, 09:01
Hi,Please answer me
1)if no of experience is to be quoted considering the number of experience that i will have when i join the course or when i send my application to the college

for example i ll have 12 months of experience when i apply for r2
but i ll have 12+6 months when i join the college if i get admitted.

so should i write in the essay that my experience is 18 months in so and so field when i enter for a mba course and stop with 12 months experience.

2)If my internship for solid 6 months in a banking solution company will be taken into account when experience is considered. It was a full time intern with paid stipend

Thanks in advance.Expecting a early reply

sathana87,

In terms of describing the working experience of their entering classes, schools calculate work experience in terms matriculation date, but in evaluating your application they will be interested in your actual work experience as of the date of application submission. If you want to emphasize your work experience saying something like "I will have 18 months of work experience when I matriculate" will be fine.

Good luck,

This info provided by you will be of great help to me
could you please further clarify the remaining part of the question if full time stipened-internship(6 months) during final year of college, would be taken into account while calculating number of years of experience.
Thanks in advance

Sathana,

No, schools generally calculate work experience from college graduation forward.
