(a) There are 12 even integers greater than integer x but less than integer y
(b) There are 24 integers greater than integer x but less than integer y.

to look at (a)

if there are two even integers in between
x=0,y=5
0 1 2 3 4 5

ans: 4

if x=1,y=5
1,2,3,4,5
ans:3

can generalise.
insufficient

B. isn't it verbatim what question asking..wow..i like it.
