(1) 29 of the 42 people are employed.
(2) 24 of the 42 people are students.

Simple Sets Question:
No need to solve the question as in these type ,look for the infor that how many are neither both of them. If the Info is not given ,it cannot be solved. Do not waste your time solving these coz you will waste a few extra seconds.

In the venn diagram you must consider the people who are neither employed nor students also. No information provided about that, hence answer E.

Here's a step-by-step approach using the Double Matrix method.

Here, the criteria are:
- employment status (employed or unemployed)
- schooling (student or non-student)

There are 42 people altogether, so our first diagram looks like this:

Notice that I placed a star in the top-left box. The target question asks us to determine the number of people in this box.

Statement 1: 29 out of 42 are employed.
We get:

Since we cannot find the number of people in the top-left box, statement 1 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Statement : 24 out of 42 are students.
We get:

Since we cannot find the number of people in the top-left box, statement 2 is NOT SUFFICIENT

Statements 1 and 2 combined:
We get:

Since we still cannot find the number of people in the top-left box, the combined statements are NOT SUFFICIENT

Answer: E

Prompt Analysis
Employed (student) + employed (non student) + non employed (student) + non employed(non student) = 42

Superset
employed(student) ranges in 0 - 42

Translation
In order to find the exact value, we need:
1# exact value of employed (student)
2# the value of rest of the three parameter
3# 4 equations and 4 mentioned variables.

Statement analysis
St 1: Employed (student) + employed (non student) = 29. Cannot say anything about Employed (student). INSUFFICIENT.
St 2: Employed (student) + non employed (student) = 24. Cannot say anything about Employed (student). INSUFFICIENT.

ST 1 & St 2: 3 equations and 4 variable. INSUFFICIENT

Option E
