I too struggled to understand the question....but I looked at answer choices and it can't answer for anything but the number of factors...
i did prime factorization, as other people explained above.
290=2*5*29 = total number of factors = 8.

I am a bit confused on this Question. It says how many integers divide into 290. I thought it meant how many numbers when divided by something will result into 290. To which the only answer would be Infinity.

Can you help understand why is the answer Factors?

Re: How many positive integers will divide evenly into 290? [#permalink]
Divide equally means the divisor will be a factor of dividend (290 in the this case). So question is asking about number of factors of 290 or count of those numbers which divide 290.
Example: How many numbers divide 10 equally.
Sol: Factors of 10= 1,2,5,10= Total 04 factors..
10 = 2^1 x 5^1
Number of factors = (1+1) ×(1+1) =2 × 2 = 4
