How many RC passages in full length exam? [#permalink]

Hi, Does anyone know exactly how many RC passages there are in the real full length exam? I've taken simulated tests from Manhattan GMAT and the free GMAT Prep software and felt like the number of RC passages has varied from like 3-5. Is it supposed to vary based on how well you do?
It's helpful to know I think because I wouldn't want to get surprised near the end when I think I'm almost done and I still have a full passage left to read instead of just doing SC or CR.

On an average you can expect 4 passages in GMAT. 1 (or 2) with long passages with 4 questions each and remaining 3 (or 2) short passages with 3 questions each. I have been seeing 4 passages (pretty consistent) in their Practice and actual GMAT tests. _________________
