How many ways are there to award a gold, silver and bronze medal to 10 contending teams?
a) 10 × 9 × 8
b) 10!/3! 7!
c) 10!/3!
d) 360

First medal can be given to any one of the 10 teams.
Second medal can be given to any one of the 9 remaining teams.
Second medal can be given to any one of the 8 remaining teams.

So Total number of ways = 10*9*8

Yes.
That is correct.
No of ways to award gold medal=10
No of ways to award silver medal = 9
No of ways to award bronze medal =8
Hence, total number of ways= 10*9*8
