For those of you with some idea what industry you want to move into after school, how much do you think you'll be raking in (total compensation) three years after b-school?

I'm thinking MC, so maybe like $150?

I like this question. I think this is more valid question to ask than post MBA (immediately after MBA) salary. Lots of people working in US/UK would be earning avg 80K even before applying for MBA. So the post MBA figures, quoted by most of the rankings, doesnt highlight the impact of MBA on the salaries earned by MBA candidates. However, we need to consider the 'doors that open up' because of MBA. MBA definitely accelerates ones career and a more accurate estimate of the impact of MBA on one's salary could me only measured after a couple of years from graduation. I think the rankings should include salary raises in 3, 5, 10 years (after MBA) to illustrate the long term impact of MBA on one's income.

Lepium:
Thats too low if we consider employment in the US/UK! Lotsa ppl even b4 MBA get around there. I would assume it to be around 150K.

Again, we need to factor - industry, economy and geographies into consideration for an average estimate.

sm , I see your point, however I'm inclined to go work in a developing country at decent (for US) rates, which is astronomical (for x country) rates.
