How strong is my candidature for HBS? [#permalink] New post 30 Mar 2005, 10:23
I have total of 9 years of IT experience. I've a bachelors in Business Management and Business Accounting, and a partial Master in Computer Science (final exam not taken). I'm 29.

I work as a PM for a major financial institution. I never had a strong academic background, but I'm targeting to score 700+ on my GMAT later this year. I've excellent references and recommendations from my peers and previous employers. I've been into a leadership role from past 7 years. I've 5 years of volunteering experience in different capacities - worker, leader and organizer.

I want to apply to HBS for acadmeic year 2006. How strong is my candidature for HBS? What else do I need?

Any help is greatly appreciated. Thank you.

If you don't have a strong academic background, then you probably need a really strong GMAT score before you're in the race.

Additionally you need to have a compelling story in your application as to the impact you'll have post-graduation. Story not meaning fabricated, but well-packaged. ;-)
