How the GMAT became more awesome (for you)

Thanks to a survey of thousands of students and test takers conducted by the Graduate Management Admissions Council (GMAC), the GMAT has undergone some big—and beneficial—changes. Here’s what’s new and how it works for you.
Quicker retests
Need to take the test again? Now you only need to wait 16 days. This means better flexibility when you prep, test and apply. You can’t take the GMAT more than five times in a 12 month period, so plan accordingly. Taking a practice test before you sit for the real thing can give you a sense for how you’re scoring and what you need to do to improve.
Enhanced score reports
This detailed analysis will help you recognize your weaknesses so you can focus your prep and improve your score on your next attempt. Whether you need to focus on a specific question type or work on your overall pacing, you’ll know.
Preview your scores
You can now preview your unofficial score before you decide whether or not to cancel. Before you sit for the test, determine your goal score or score range so you know whether or not you have the score you need. This is a huge plus because…
Schools won’t see cancelled scores
From here on out, schools won’t see your cancelled scores or score dates. So what happens when you cancel? Nothing! As far as schools know, you never sat for the test on that day. This applies to previously cancelled scores as well, but if a school has already received and downloaded your score report it can’t be modified.
These changes are a big plus to test takers, but the GMAT is still a long and complicated test. Make sure you get the prep you need to get a top score. Check out our local prep courses and tutors near you.
