How to address low GPA? [#permalink]
20 Jun 2010, 13:52
My target school is langone NYU Part time
my undergraduate GPA in engineering was 2.3 and a 4.0 in grad school also in engineering. Do i still need to address the low gpa in my optional essay? I did work full time during my undergraduate years but I feel there is no excuse good enough too justify such a low GPA and that i could possibly be better off just ignoring it since my graduate GPA supposedly indicates that my uGPA was not a reflection of my academic abilities.
Any thoughts or advice? thanks
non expert advice is also appreciated

The chances are that your graduate GPA will not be considered when the admissions committee evaluates you. Even though the content in graduate school is more difficult than content in college, the grading system is a lot more lenient than the grading system in college.
You should just say you worked full time during your undergraduate years, which might be one of the reasons why you have a low undergraduate GPA.
