I have a question about how to quantify work experience on admission applications. I've been working full-time for over 15 years, even while in school. Do I count all those years (even the ones where I worked as a customer service representative or an administrative assistant)? Or do I only count the years when I worked in my current field?

Career trajectory:

2 years: Customer Service Rep
4 years: Admin Asst/Executive Asst
3 years: Student Affairs Officer/Program Manager
2 years: Office Manager
* Changed career focus to accounting/finance *
3 years: Accounting Rep
1 year: Financial Analyst

I will soon graduate with my B.S. in Management (finally!) and plan to apply to part-time MBA programs in Southern California.

Thanks in advance for any guidance you can give!

Most programs are clear about their instructions: either to count all full-time work experience or just full-time work experience since graduation. Since you have extensive work experience prior to earning your degree, I recommend listing all of it and noting the concurrent studies either in that section (if there is a place for it) or in an additional information/optional essay section.
