How to reject admit offers ? [#permalink]
12 Dec 2007, 17:42
Hi,
I was dreaming yesterday that i will get admit into all the schools that i have applied . Well thats great right ? Just wanted to know how you folks are planning to reject the admit offers once you receive offers from multiple schools ? I think it will be very embrassing to reject an admit offer from school specially after telling them in essays how great that school fit into our scheme of things in why mba, why our school essay.
Cheers

On the admitted student section of Kellogg there is an area to inform them of your decisions. There is a form to fill out if you decide not to attend. If you dont inform them you are going by their deadline then you cant attend anyways.

I think Montauk has an entire chapter devoted to "rejecting" schools (hee hee, we should write, "X School, you have been DINGED!"
I think I'll cross that bridge when I come to it.

You can always play a little poker with them and see if you can get some money out of them. I know that would be a huge deciding factor for any of my schools. All are great schools but if one offers me cash and others dont, then its a pretty easy decision. This may not hold true for drastically different schools but if you get into two ultra elites or two elites, why not call up your back-up school and see if you can get a scholarship offer out of them.
This probably works better if you already get some money out of them. If you get 15K a year and want more then you probably will be more successful if you got nothing.

hey thanks folks .. I need to get that copy of Montauk's book..
However I still think sending out a nice email will be good rather than talking it over the phone .
I hope to cross this bridge soon )).. on the otherhand let me stop dreaming and concentrate on getting into few of my target schools...
