How to solve scattered detailed(EXCEPT) questions in RC?

How to solve scattered detailed(EXCEPT) questions in RC? [#permalink] New post 24 Dec 2012, 10:24
There are questions eg: except questions, in which details of questions are scattered all over the passage;
Suppose one answer choice will be in first passage another one will be somewhere in middle of the passage.
Everytime going trough passage one by one and looking for specific details is tedious and time consuming.
even passage mapping will just give direction where to look for but not nitty-gritty details.

any advice how to tackle such kind of question?

At tghe top of this subforum I posted a link with files that could help you

generally speaking: the strategy is to have the overall picture or the whole picture of the passage, what's going on.

In that way you can spot almost suddenly where is the answer. It's all about strategy and understand the passage.

For instance: do not read it as something nearly to: facts facts and yet facts, one over another. try to stay engage with the passage, ask question to yourself about why, the reason why something is there in that precise line of the passage.
