I can already tell that you are very unfamiliar with the gmat b/c of the poll you've added. I suggest you take at least 2-3 weeks familiarizing yourself with the ins and outs of the test as well as cataloging all the available prep material.

Don't know where to begin? Read all the stickys and other people's debrief of their gmat experience.

Sit, read other's success stories, then emulate. Good luck.

The CAT (Computer Adaptive Test) is not a separate test. It is the way the test is given. While you do need to prepare for CAT, it's not a matter of studying materials for the CAT. The prep for the CAT should be taking multiple CAT's so you are familiar with the way it works and how it looks. Best of luck. We'll be happy to answer any other specific questions you have along the way.

Can you give us a brief idea of the following:

What are you goals (schools, MBA, joint degrees)?
When do you plan on taking the GMAT?
Which schools do you want to apply to?
Where are you from?
Is English a second language for you? (If so, you need to prepare for the TOEFL too.)
