I would recommend that you go with the Kaplan
GMAT Premier 2014. It is better than using two separate books. It's also very comprehensive and comes with 5 online tests. This will be a great start and you can get more books once you complete it if you need them. There is a great explanation at the beginning of the book on creating study plans as well.
