How will this play on a background check, do you think? [#permalink] New post 09 Mar 2014, 20:55
Hi

I worked for a large tech firm several years ago in-house for two years. During that time, I was paid via an outside contractor agency for my main pay. My bonuses were paid via the larger company. My perks came from the larger company and so did some of my benefits.

I want to put my my resume the name of the larger company as the company I worked for, with an indication I was a contract employee.

Do you think this will fly?

The contracting company no one has ever heard of, so I really do myself a disservice in using it. I feel like since I am being upfront I worked under contract, naming the larger company really shouldn't be fatal.

Your thoughts?

It's very reasonable.
Totally go for it. After all, you did work for them.
(as long as you make that little indication of being a contract worker)
