Is it A?

Code:
          TOTAL                 Mrs.LEE             OTHERS
May    X                          0.6X                   0.4X
June   5.6X/5                   3.6X/5                0.4X

[%]JUNE = (3.6/5.6) * 100 = 63.9 % = 64% approx

a. 64%

x = family income each month
M = Mrs Smith's income for May
J = Mrs Smith's income for June

May: 0.60x = M
*so the rest of the family earned 0.40x
June: J = 1.2M

J = 1.2 (0.60x)
J = 0.72x

J/F = .72/ (.72+.4) = .72/1.12 = 0.64

One more for A. Pick numbers and set up an equation.

Assume Total Family income is $100. Then Mrs. makes $60 and the rest of the family makes $40. 20% increase in June from $60 =$72

So.....

72/72+40 =x/100

x=63+%
